Description

Notes of honey, apricot and dark chocolate; medium roast

Honduras is Central America’s largest coffee producer and Montecillos is one of the country’s six official coffee-growing regions. Located along the Salvadoran border in the south-west of the country, Montecillos offers ideal climatic conditions and high altitudes for growing speciality coffee. This coffee is produced by small and medium-sized farmers who are part of MARCAFE, an association of around 660 producers who grow coffee on 70 hectares on the slopes of the Sierra de Montecillos. All MARCAFE members use environmentally conscious agricultural practices: they enrich the soil with organic matter, protect the forests and conserve water resources.
